DxO, on the other hand, has assured that the Nik collection will be free for the time being while the company works on a new version for 2018. Google had acquired the Nik along with Snapseed in 2012. Immediately after the acquisition, the price of the Nik Collection went down from $500 to $150 in 2013, and it was finally offered for free in 2016....
GizChina now reports that Elephone could be working on a mysterious device with some really impressive specs. During the annual Hong Kong trade fair, Elephone disclosed that it is working on a new flagship device which will feature a QuadHD (2560 x 1440) display, 4GB of RAM and a 20.7-megapixel camera with Sony’s IMX230 sensor. The smartphone is also said to feature a metal frame and really thin side bezels....
Masquerade, the developer behind MSQRD has confirmed that they will be a part of Facebook through the blog post while Facebook seems to have confirmed the same to Techcrunch. The app uses advacnced imaging technology to add filters for the photos and videos, and make them fun and engaging. The terms of the deal are still kept under the wraps and it is also not known how Facebook will be leveraging MSQRD’s features....

Motorola has released two variations of the X – Style and Play. The latest offering by Garmin for those seeking a sophisticated fitness tracker in India is the Garmin Forerunner 645 Music smartwatch. The Swiss-based company first showcased the smartwatch at CES 2018 in January this year, with its major highlight being the ability to store music onto the internal storage of the watch. Bokeh what, ask thee? Well, we have explained the concept in some detail in our Tech Detox section on Aperture, but a quick summary would be: those photographs where some part of the picture is in sharp focus and the remainder blurred out. This blurring out of the background is referred to as Bokeh by many photographers, although some also refer to it as Depth of Field. And making this possible is the ability to change the aperture in the V5 Plus – something we have not seen in a front facing camera yet....

Google has done it again! They will be hosting a mega Android event in New York on Monday, 29th October, which is basically the same day as the pre-announced Windows Phone 8 Launch by Microsoft, which will take place in San Fransisco. Ouch! This isn’t the first time Google has done something like this. A couple of months back, Google held an event to announce a couple of Motorola Droid smartphones exactly on the day Microsoft & Nokia had scheduled a WP8 introduction event....
What is Google Maps AR Navigation? Since street view data isn’t available in the country, Google seems to be using local data of shops or established business or places of common interest in order to provide these AR based navigation directions. Do note that this feature is only supported for walking directions, as it’s generally hard to pick up GPS signals when one is surrounded by tall buildings, or in cases where there are multiple exits or roads and you’re not sure which one to pick....

Rewind back to 17th October 2012. Google announced that they’re holding an exclusive Android event in New York on 29th October, the very same day as Microsoft’s WP8 Launch. Many, including Microsoft insiders saw this as silly and deliberate. By that time everyone knew nearly everything about what they’re going to announce on 29th Oct. Two weeks later, they had to cancel the event in NY, thanks to Hurricane Sandy....
