Design-wise, the Bip settles for a squarish frame and in some sense looks similar to the Pebble or even the Apple Watch. The display glass seems to be slightly raised and that apart there are no shiny chrome or aluminum bits. The 1.28-inch color display comes equipped with a Corning Gorilla Protection and is always-reflective in nature. That apart the Bip smartwatch offers the usual array of sensors including heart rate sensor, geomagnetic field sensor, barometer, GPS, and GLONASS. The smartwatch is water and dust resistance thanks to its IP68 rating. The best part of all is the battery life, Amazfit claims a battery life of 30+ days despite the always-on color display. The company further claims that the battery life can be extended to 45 days with minimal notifications. The Bip seems like a good mishmash of fitness and smartwatch functions. Amazfit Bip can be paired with either an iOS device or an Android device. The notification feature supports a wide array of social media apps including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and more. The watch can also show email, text and other notifications. On the fitness front, the Bip offers a step count meter, calories, distance and a heart rate sensor. Priced at $99, the Bip makes a lot of sense if you are on a lookout for a smartwatch with basic fitness features. The Bip is already up for sale in the U.S and is available in Black Onyx, Cinnabar Red, White Cloud and Kokoda Green color. At a time when big companies are shying away from offering more smartwatch models, it’s good to see Xiaomi and Amazfit keep at it with good offerings.
