The first beta build, with version 8.7.5 is currently supported on these devices – Mi 6, Mi Mix 2, Redmi S2, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi Mix 2S, Mi 5, Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix. Do note that in order to flash the MIUI 10 Global Beta build, your phone needs to have an unlocked bootloader, as you will need to flash the ROM through fastboot. If you’re already on a beta ROM from MIUI 9, then you can flash this build right from your updater app. Taking a look at the main highlight of this build, Xiaomi has now added a new LDAC mode functionality for Bluetooth which is said to improve sound quality while listening to music on a pair of Bluetooth headphones. LDAC is an audio codec developed by Sony which has now been integrated into AOSP enabling OEMs to use it on their smartphones at will. Since this is the first Global Beta build, there might be a few unstable components or a few features which might not have made it into the ROM yet. However, if you want a glimpse of how MIUI 10 I going to look like on your device, you can go ahead and flash this ROM. Another thing to note is that once you flash a beta ROM, you will no longer be eligible to receive stable ROM updates and instead, will receive beta ROM updates. If you want to know more about the new features in MIUI 10, you can read our article about it here.
