The Montblanc Summit 2 is an upgrade to last year’s Summit smartwatch but improves and adds some helpful features like NFC to facilitate Google Pay, standalone GPS, a heart rate monitor, barometer and a 5 ATM water resistant rating. All these additional features aside, the major improvement of this smartwatch is going to be in terms of battery life as most smartwatches running on the older 2100 SoC would run out of juice in less than 24 hours.
If claims from Montblanc is anything to go by, the smartwatch should ideally last up to 1.5 days on a single charge when used along with all the smart functionality, while the usage time can be extended up to a week if used in the “Time only Mode” which basically turns off all the smart functionality of the watch and shows you just the time, or if you want to extend it even further, you can use it in the “Watch only Mode” which will give you around 30 days of usage. The watch is housed in a stainless steel case with a digital crown and two buttons flanked on the right edge. The display is 1.2-inch with a pixel density of 327 PPI and is protected by sapphire crystal. The smartwatch has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage and runs on the latest Wear OS 2.1. The straps are 22mm bands which can be replaced as per your liking. As with most of Montblanc’s products, the Summit 2 is extremely pricey and starts at $995 with the Titanium edition going on sale for $1,095.
