Oppo A53: Design and Display

The Oppo A53 features a 3D iridescent wave design, which is said to be inspired by ocean waves, with a curved back to offer a comfortable grip in hand. Towards the front, the device features a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate that comes in at a 20:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, the display has a hole-punch cutout on top to house the front-facing camera. Oppo A53 is available in three colors: Fancy Blue, Fairy White, and Electric Black.

Oppo A53: Performance

Under the hood, the Oppo A53 runs on the Snapdragon 460 chipset from Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 460 is an octa-core chipset based on the 11nm process, with the Adreno 610 GPU for graphics processing. Assisting the processor is 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of onboard storage (expandable up to 256GB with microSD card). To power the internals, the device includes a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. For connectivity, the A53 offers dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, and Bluetooth 5. As for other specifications, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The phone runs on ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10.

For optics, Oppo is offering a triple-camera setup on the A53, which includes a 13MP primary sensor accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, the device has a 16MP shooter for selfies.

The Oppo A53 comes in two configurations: 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB, priced at Rs 12,990 and Rs 15,490, respectively. It will be available for purchase starting August 25.
