The all-new Smartisan Nut 3 is no different. It is the latest smartphone from the Beijing based brand and has been placed in the mid-range segment. Going with the new smartphone design trends, the Smartisan Nut 3 features a tri-bezel less design. Unlike some of its mid-range competitors like the Oppo F7 or the Vivo V9, the Smartisan Nut 3 doesn’t have an iPhone X like notch above the display. Instead, it follows a design language incepted by Xiaomi with its original Mi MIX. The Smartisan Nut 3, however, doesn’t feature any fancy tech like the Piezo Electric based earpiece as seen in the Mi MIX. On the contrary, it has a standard earpiece above the display and features a fingerprint sensor along with a front camera at the bottom.
The placement of the selfie shooter just beside the front mounted fingerprint sensor, isn’t a great design decision, especially in the ergonomic terms of view. It would result in oil and smudge marks all over the camera, that would come from the finger while unlocking the device. So, users would need to keep a microfiber cloth in handy while using the selfie shooter. One of the main highlighting features of the Smartisan Nut 3 is its 7.16mm slim profile. Smartisan has succeeded in making the smartphone so slim, despite packing in a large 4,000mAh battery inside. The device apparently features an all-metal unibody design with a layer of glass on top.

The Smartisan Nut 3 comes in three color options namely Red Wine, Carbon Black and Light Gold. It runs on a dated build of Android, Nougat 7.1.2 to be precise. However, the mid-range comes with Smartisan OS 4.x on top of the Android. It will be available in three storage variants – 32GB,64GB and 128GB – at 1,299 Yuan ($205/Rs 13,400), 1,599 Yuan ($253/Rs 16,500) and 1,999 Yuan ($315/Rs 20,800) respectively.
