After nearly a fortnight of silence, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi has finally confirmed that the Mi MIX 2S is set to go official on March 27. He, however, didn’t reveal any details regarding the upcoming Mi7. Apart from revealing the launch date, Lei has posted a teaser on Weibo that clearly highlights the Antutu benchmark score of the flagship. Incidentally, 2,73,741 score shared by Xiaomi on Weibo is way higher than those achieved by the Samsung Galaxy S9 or Sony Xperia XZ2. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S has been in news for quite a while now. Various renders and leaked images of the smartphone have surfaced online over the past few weeks. Popular tipsters reveal that the Mi MIX 2S will come with a FullScreen 3.0 display, which will possibly a major improvement over the Mi MIX 2. Lei Jun has further leaked that the near bezel-less smartphone will come with Snapdragon 845 under the hood. Besides, rumours suggest the smartphone to feature a dual 12MP rear camera with 2X optical zoom. The implementation is expected to be similar to what we have seen in the OnePlus 5.
Another interesting feature that’s expected to go mainstream with the Mi MIX 2S is an in-display fingerprint sensor. The technology first debuted on the Vivo X20 UD a few months back. However, limited availability of the smartphone hasn’t helped in popularizing the technology. The Mi MIX 2S is expected to go on sale for a price slightly higher than the asking price of its predecessor.
